It is a common belief that ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) increases traction. However, ESP is a computerised control system that prevents the wheels from spinning by applying brakes to individual wheels and does not increase traction as such. Actually, ESP should be switched off when traction control systems like Onspot are engaged!
